eReaders Contribute To The Slow Death Of Bookstores

Standing in the entrance of the bookstore, I noticed the five Nook stations throughout the store and knew the electronic invasion was in full swing. Kindle opened the door for the eReader and every year new customers buy into this market. Customers can view thousands of authors and titles, search for comparable authors, and download the newest bestsellers for half price, which can be done anywhere.

The bookstore is my place of solace from the hubbub of the world where I explore forgotten centuries, monsters coming, killers stalking, detectives hunting, cowboys rescuing, and lovers reconnecting. I feel the nostalgia of  past visits; roaming the shelves, picking up and replacing books, the smell of the paper wafting in his nostrils, and the books I have  taken home.

Calm surrounds me entering  the mystery section where my favorite authors live; but the selection is minimal, and some authors are missing. I am disappointed, know the eReader will satisfy my needs, but am not ready to give up my old friend paperback, and the feel of fanning his pages.
